I saw in another post about a thing called a halti clip which clips onto the collar and the halti so that it doesn't come off completely. Does anyone know if you can buy it online? I can't find it in any shops round here. If you can't get it online does anyone have an old one that i could buy off them? Ta.

I use a double ended lead , which effectively does the same job ...also means I can use the part attached to the Dogmatic to gently pull Hudson back and then immediately release that pressure and carry on holding the end of the lead attached to his collar.

Hi
I answered the original post and gave details of the Halti Link. You can get them from The Company of Animals at Chertsey by mail order - sorry haven't got the tel. no. to hand but try Directory Enquiries.

If you are using a half choker collar then you can clip your lead to the collar and the halti and it works fine. No point spending the money if you don't have to especially seeing as the halti will most probably only be worn for a few weeks as once the dog has learnt not to pull then you can stop using it

I bought a Halti Link about two months ago for 99p. Don't know anywhere you could get a half check collar as cheap.

I didn't mean go out and buy a choker! I meant if you already have one
That being said 99p aint bad :)
I haven't used a half check chain yet, have been considering it thuogh. I'd like to think it is temporary, but i have been trying for months to train her to walk to heel. she has the idea but unfortunately she is scared of passing cars, despite seeing them every day of her life with us. This makes her pull and jump about on the lead sometimes. I had stopped using it and carried on with the flat collar as she hated the halti so much that she would hide when i mentioned a walk. Since i stopped she now gets really excited at the prospect of a walk, but i also have a 5 month old retriever and on the odd occaision that i walk them together they are uncontrollable unless megan wears a halti.
Thanks for all your help though. One more thing - where would you get a double ended lead? Most pet shops?

talking about halti collars..I took my mini monster amber out last night using a halti collar for the first time. She thought she was a horse and kept putting it in her mouth until on the way back the lead went slack, and i realised she'd bitten right through it!!!My other three labs took to theirs with no probs, but the choccy mini monster is obviously much wiser.as for halti clips???i have never seen them and just tuck the halti collar round their normal collars a couple of times, and it seems to work:)
