can somebody please tell me what all the cc , rcc etc mean for the showing classes, and why at the end of a class the judge then looks at the dogs again as if judgeing them for a second time after they have handed out the rossettes, I am from a horse showing backround before i got into dogs and find the winning titles very different.

The cc is a challenge certificate which in laymans terms means the best of sex in the breed. The rcc is the reserve challenge certificate (2nd best of sex in breed)
The judge after placing the class is proably looking at them agaiin to write his critique on the dog which then (sometimes) appears in the dog papers.

Hope this helps you a little.

Oh by the way your dog has to win 3 cc's to then have the title of Champion at the front of its name.

Judges, well me anyway, look down the line at the end of the class to refresh their memory of what they found when they looked and moved them individually. And some times if there are 2 dogs you particularly like, to try and decide in which order you wish to place them, so you are looking to see which you prefer, sometimes you need to move them again, and although you may only be interested in say 2 or 3 of the dogs you will usually move all because every dog should have the same amount of consideration, and sometimes they move better at the end of the class than they do when you have just gone over them, so the final look and re-moving is when you decide in which order you are going to place them. The more evenly matched the dogs in the class the longer the judge may take over this final assessment.

CC are only given at championship shows and only then if the breed in question has them on offer.
