I am not a happy bunny.

Willis clouted me with his paw 2 days ago, causing my lip to be cut by my tooth. Did it heal nicely? No... it's now gone into a lovely, long, double-whammy mouth ulcer. I always get them when I'm tired, and this one is particularly fiesty. I am currently using anabesol but IT STINGS!! Does anyone know of anything that works without the treatment hurting more than the ulcer itself? :)

Ooooh, sore! :( Would holding an icecube against it before you apply the anabesol help?
- By Carla Date 05.09.03 15:15 UTC
Yeah, it might - as long as I don't get freezer burn on it! I'm going out for a meal tonight and I feel really miserable with it :(

Yeah, run some water over the ice first, to take off the intense cold, or you'll be going out to dinner looking like Scott of the Antarctic. (Certainly making an entrance, but not subtle)

I always get canker sores and boy do they hurt...I get them from to much pop, oranges, juice I believe it is the acid in them, and if I bite my cheek or something :(

Any how I use Zilactin it works great its for Canker Sores, Cold sores, Fever Blisters it goes on as a protective film and lasts about 6 hrs, a little goes a long way. I find it really good because with out putting it on I find it hard to eat because they hurt so much.

Any how this is what I use...Good luck :)

ttfn :)

edit: Just to say it must be dry when you put it on, then must wait till it dries it only takes a couple of seconds. It does sting when you apply it but after it dryes it doesn't hurt any more, well worth it. I use a Q-tip when I apply it.

Make sure you avoid all citrus foods, especially tomatoes. My Mum used to dab salt onto them, and they dried up really quickly - but it b****y hurt!!!!

Tomatoes are a killer... I had one last night with loads of salt on and my eyes watered for about ten minutes. Took four vodkas to numb the pain

Its still raging this morning. I'm not sure this anabesol is doing anything other than annoying it. I've been told to put salt on...but I don't think I'm brave enough!! :)

Suck an ice pole - I used tons of them working in cancer care. Maybe someone out there knows how to make an adult version with vodka.:)

Vodka is a great healer, isn't it Chloe ;) ;) lol lol
Have gotten thru a fair bit myself this week...purely medicinal reasons tho ;)
Hope it's a bit better today.

I get them often - once had 10 in my mouth at one time. The doctor prescribed some steroid pills that you put next to the ulcer and it dissolved. I also was given some past like stuff to put on it to protect it. Not overly pleasant but it meant i could eat and talk! Vitamin B complex pills taken every night usually keeps them at bay. Failing that - bonjela!

Think i could cope with constant ulcers if vodka was my cure, you would never feel the pain! Only thing is you would have a constant hangover, but with good reason because it is for medicinal purposes so my partner would have to wait on me hand and foot. Yippee sounds great!

lol Charlie
Vodka works well for me for most things.....my excuse and I'm sticking to it ;)
