Can anyone tell me how much a chinese crested hairless variety usually cost because a breeder has told me that a hairless male is only about £150 which seems extremley cheap for such a rare breed whereas a female is around £1000 because 75% a crested pups are male making the female hairless's special. Can you tell me if what the breeder is saying is true about the cost of males and whether females are special.

Chinese crested are not rare and as far as I know they are or should be between £500 and £800. They come crested or powder puff and I don't think the cost should differ. Both need suntan lotion.

The first dog you got DeeDee sounds like it was a true hairless they do come with varying amounts of furnishings, some with only a few hairs and others with quite heavy furnishings . And Guest i would be very suspicious with the tale you have been told if i were you i would find another breeder if you want a crested i don't know of any reputable breeders selling their dogs for that kind of money you should expect to pay £400 and upwards.
