Hi. Sorry to here about your dog. I had a cocker spaniel with a murmur rated 4. He was a happy and healthy dog who exhibited no symptoms and I made the choice not to put him through the various exploritory tests that I was offered as these would just have confirmed the diagnosis and given me a rough estimate of his expected life span. He lived a normal dog life with lots of excercise and playing with my retriever and kids. Unfortuneately we lost him in June, aged only 20 months. Possibly due to the heat this summer, who knows. There was no suffering involved, he had a walk, came home and lay in the kitchen, 10 mins later he had died. This may not be typical but I would not waste the time that you have with him worrying about the end. Please feel free to email me if you want. Best wishes, Sam.
