Hi

Just wanted to know if anyone has a dog with Mega-e and if so are there any medications that you could recommend for her here in the UK. I have had advice from the US but my understanding is that their drugs are called different names.

At present she is 11 weeks and was diagnosed at 6 weeks. We feed her elevated and hold her for a few minutes to help the food go down, as you can imagine this is getting harder the bigger she is getting.

Many thanks

Heidi

I wish you all the best, don't know of any drugs. A friend of mine had his dog put to sleep recently due to this it was only 18 months old, I hope that you do find something which is of help.

I know of three gsds that were born with it, who were not on any medication, so long as they were fed off the floor, meaning that there bowls were raised level to there heads and the food was soaked so it was mushy and they were not fed any thing that was hard, for example no biscuits, chews etc unless all food had been soaked first, they led a normal life and went on to become police dogs.

When they were puppys it was noticed that they were gagging and not swallowing easily and they were quite thin, but what i put above was what the vet suggested and all was ok with them.

I hope yours gets better

Diane
