wondering if there are any helpful tips on how to calm down two excited dogs: a 4 month Staff and a 1 year old Dalmation. they play really well together, but sometimes will not leavee each other alone or settle and end up galloping around everywhere, even if they are seperated they then just cry and bark at the top of their voices...any hints?

You have two puppies! Your staff is very young, and dalmatians start to mature mentally at about 8 years old (I know, I have four of them at the moment, and it seems as though something suddenly 'clicks' at that age.). I would suggest you do lots of walks and training with the dal - he's old enough now to be built up to a few miles - and then some one-to-one with the staff - plenty of short training sessions and short walks, again, without the other dog.

Both Pups are not mine, the Staff (Bobby) is and the Dalamation (Sammy) is my colleagues, both dogs come to work...which is good as then they have company all day and they get worked in the fields behind work. Thanks for the advice...I didn't realise that Dalamations stay as pups (mentally) for such a long time. You must have your handsful with 4 of them! but they have such a lovely fun nature I can see why you have more than one. ;-)

Bobby has caught onto his training really well and is exceptionally good, hoever when there is another dog about most of the comands are ignored...which is a little frustrating! any tips that could help with this one, or is it just persistance and the training will payoff regardless of who is about?

I think dogs are always going to find other dogs irresistible! I know if I spent my life among Martians I would be delighted to find another of my own species!
Persistence, training, and oodles of tolerance is the best way to go, I feel.
