as some of you might know Darcy recently had both her 3rd eyelids cortorised (sp?) because of constant conjunctivitus and saggy eyes
she went to the dog sitter almost straight after the operation becasue we were renovating and moving into our new house!
I went to visit her a couple of times a week and her eyes healed beautifully and the conjunctivitus stopped completely.
I then bought her home and it has all started again and is getting progressively worse!!!!
There are only 2 differences I can think of. I have 4 cats and my sitter doesnt and there is quite a lot of dust around becasue of the building work.
The only thing is there wasnt dust at my old house (well not much anyway I'm not the best at housework :) )
I'm getting quite concerned now that it might be the cats.
How can I find out for sure and if she was is there anything I could do to relieve it????

I am sure the vet will be able to do an allergy test to see if she is allergic to cats. I have never heard of it before though.
Poor girl. Let us know how you get on. What will you do if she is ??

hmm I dont know really!! I dont think she's suffering that much. Her eyes are a bit dry and itchy but with eye drops she seems fine. She just looks a bit funny with big droopy eyes!
I'd be very reluctant to think about rehoming her becasue of it.
Maybe they do allergy medicine for dogs!!!
Hi,
Not long ago I took my dog to an opthalmologist, as he has eye problems, and noticed a poster on the wall listing things dogs can be allergic to - one of them was a cat!

Did your dog have the problem when you first bought him home. If he didn't then it's prolly not due to your cats but may be due to all the dust in the house.
It's just a thought.

unfortunately she's had the eye problem since she was a pup which makes me even more suspicious!!!!!!!
Am going to the vets on Monday so will see what he thinks!!
