Hi Everyone
hoping for some advice? ive been checking out the champdogs website since we had decided to get a Vizsla puppy..just to make sure we were well prepared..anyway..we got her last week - she is absoluetly gorgeous and learns most things very quickly..we are having one little problem though..with her sleeping..how long should we expect to have her before she can sleep on her own - she is only 7 weeks now, but I dont know at what age she will be OK for a whole night, any help would be great

Hi guest,

What area did you buy your pup from? IMHO, six week's old is far too soon to sell a puppy to her new home. She is still very much a baby and will need to gain some confidence. Be patient with her :).

I have always started as I have meant to go on with my pups so when I bring them home at 7/8 weeks they are crated downstairs in the same rooms as the others.I expect to have to get up with them for toilet etc for the first couple of weeks or so but I get up , take them out and apart from a 'good boy' when they do their business its very matter of fact with no fuss.Straight back in the crate and I go back to bed.It may seem hard but I make up for cuddles during the day.
IMHO by not starting as you mean to go on your just making it harder for the pup in the long run.My pups have always been clean through the night from about 10-12 weeks.
Good luck,Archer
