I'm going to Cardiff in October with my 2 dogs and want to stay overnight in preparation for a dog show. Any recommendations where I can stay for a night? I'm sure Wales is dog-friendly but a lot of the guesthouses I've been looking at on the net don't allow dogs.

I think Travel Lodge will allow dogs, they may have to be crated though.

Travelodges do allow dogs in, they do not have to be crated but they do now charge £5 per dog and usually only allow one in. Whether you are charged at all and how many dogs you get in does vary from location to location however :). I use them a lot;

Hiya Sarah
I live in Swansea, and i know that the Ramada Jarvis Hotel about 5 minutes away from me, allow dogs, as long as you stay on the ground floor. I'm originally from Stoke-on-Trent, and when i got married last year my parents and grandparents stayed there with there dogs. Lovely place!! And we are only about 30-40 mins away from Cardiff.
There number is 01792 310330. What dog show are you going to?

Hi Gemma,
It's a beagle show on 5th October. I may tray the larger hotels, but would prefer something a little smaller if poss.

Hi Sarah
Failing that, have a look on yell.com. thats how my mum and dad found that they accepted dogs. they just phoned all the hotels in the surrounding area and asked if they take dogs!
Thanks

Hi
The Nnant Du Lodge allows dogs (01685 379111) it is the most gorgeous cosy place set in the most wonderfull countryside with the best dog walking in the world, it has a fantastic restaurant and bar food the only draw back is that its a bit pricey £79.50 per night but the views are worth every penny. It would take approx 25 mins to Cardiff. I used to live not far from there and am now missing the place like mad.

There are "dog friendly" B&B's and guest houses, I have seeen them on the web but cant remember any site names. Have you searched on www.google.co.uk something like "accomodation+dogs" dont trust my spelling though!!
