Hi all, I expect most of you know about the dangers of Kennel Cough, but for anyone who dosnt ..read on.
Most dogs get a nasty, hacking cough, runny nose but are bright and alert in themselves. We have lost an IW with it a few years ago, and yesterday nearly lost my smooth haired lurcher to it. It went from a light cough to pnemonia in six hours. Some dogs, particularly the deep chested breeds, have times when the virus migrates from the upper respitory tract, to the lungs. Although she is still unwell, thank god we caught it in time, so if your dog starts coughing, keep a very careful eye on them.
Just out of interest, mine had all had homeopathic KC tablets, and at the first sign of the cough, all were dosed with Benylin.

How awful. I hope your dog continues to recover.

I keep a very close eye on mine all the time, there was a load of KC going round last year and I was paranoid mine were gonna get it (wasn't I Leigh ;-) ) especially as one of my dogs has immune problems. I too have them on homeopathic, not knowing if it is going to help but can't do any harm.

Thanks for the warning.
