Can anyone help please? I am looking for a nice stud dog for my eighteen month old westie bitch. I am not to concerned about a winning pedigree as a healthy nice natured dog. I live in the london/essex area and can drive a reasonable distance. Many thanks JS

If you have not managed to study the breeding lines of your bitch in particular and the breed in general, the best thing to do is to speak to the bitches breeder, they will know which lines will complement your bitch and which would spell disaster.

It does not matter whether you see yourself as breeding a Crufts winner or a good and kind pet dog, it is your responsibility to the breed, to breed the best you can. After all there are plenty of poor quality Westies out there and I am sure you do not wish to add to their numbers.

Have you had any necessary health checks done to breed these nice healthy puppies? Is your bitch a good example of the breed and done her share of winning at shows? Have you owners for the puppies?
