Topic Dog Boards / General / Complete Cooked Chicken

We went to Sainsbury's earlier and bought a cooked chicken for our lunch. Sat down and ate the legs and wings leaving the rest so we thought, out of reach on the worktop to cool down. When I went back out to the kitchen to wash up there was just the plate left. He had eaten the whole carcass complete with the breast (best bit) which we were keeping for sandwiches. I had even covered it with some kitchen towel.....he had eaten that too!

We were only in the conservatory just off of the kitchen and never heard a thing, Now I am going to be worried for 24 hours hoping it passes through alright. Didn't even have the decency to look disgraced about it.

Does anyone know if I would be better not feeding him for 24 hours until it has passed through, or giving him something to help it through?

Hi Sandra, personally I wouldn`t give him anything till I knew he was going to be OK. With a bit of luck he should be alright. One of my lot ate a whole cooked leg of pork once while it was cooling & was OK.

At least the towel should help cushion any sharp bits........
