Topic Other Boards / Foo / My resignation
- By liberty Date 19.08.03 21:39 UTC
I am hereby tendering my resignation as an adult.
I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an 8 yr old again.

I want to go to Mc Donalds and think it's a 4 star restaurant.
I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle, and make a pavement with rocks.
I want to think that M&M's are better than money because you can eat them.

I want to lie under an ol oak tree and run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summers day.
I want to return to a time when life was simple, when all you knew were colours, multiplication tables and nursery rhymes, but that didn't bother you, because you didn't know and you didn't care.
All you knew was to be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset.

I want to think the world is fair.
That everyone is good and honest.
I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things again.

I want to live simple, I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more days in the month than there is money, bills, gossip, illness and the loss of loved ones.

I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, justice peace, dreams, the imagination of mankind and making angels in the snow.

So............here's my cheque book, car keys, credit card bills and mortgage,
I'm officially resigning from adulthood.

And if you want to discuss this further, you'll have to catch me first cos........................

...................Tag! You're it!!

Oh If only

Oh how I wish I could do that!!!
I hate all the responsibility, the work, and the Phone!!
I get round it by collecting old kids books and reliving my childhood that way!!
Any other suggestions??

Sarah.
P.S. Couldn't do without my dogs though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sneak a shot on the swings, paddle in the pond and buy what I used to call penny mixtures - now the kids need 50p to get a bagfull.

Lorelei.....

it was a 10p mix when I was younger........and how I wish I could go back to that!!
Just having a good read through these posts.....I'm 26 next month, ok, pretty young still, but I have so many responsibilities!!!!!
Don't get me wrong, I love my life......but sometimes I'd like to be totally free again!!

A friend of mine has just gone on holiday with her (girl) friends.....and I thought, you lucky cow!! But if I had the chance to go, I wouldn't! I'd miss my home life too much. How sad!!!

Take care all!

I was 33 in July, and I never thought I was old.......until recently. Getting out of bed in the mornings, my bones ache and creak. Cant take my drink like I used to either....was hungover all day yesterday !!! Can old age really start this early?? lol
and the thought of going away on holiday??? I'd love to !! Just to be able to run away from everything...bliss.
Norm/Dill, get an extra cup out, I'm coming too.

Don't worry, you can join Norm, Dill. Steph amd myself for a cup of tea (another cup, please, Chaps :) ) or you can have a bottle of lemonade with a straw (my fave) and no adults allowed ;)
