Please can anyone help? We have a four months old old english sheepdog bitch and she smells of urine constantly!!! No matter how often we wash her there is a lingering smell. We have never had a bitch before and wonder if this is something we should have expected? We would like to show Ellie so wondered about clipping her back end but don't won't to spoil her chances if this is not acceptable for showing?

Hi,

If you want to show her, you must not clip her at all.

Have you spoken to your vet about this, although bitches will pee on their hair, it shouldn't still smell after she has been bathed. Maybe there is a medical problem there.

She is also a bitch that wees whenever she gets excited, do you think this might have anything to do with it, maybe a problem?
