Just to report that my yellow lab who developed a pinkish nose throughout the winter now has a lovely shiny nearly black one. How are the others who reported on this condition?

Lorna

This is what has happened to Moose my middle Lab but she also has a crusty dry nose which has now got an infection.

Obviuosly this is not the winter so do you know what the cause of this is ??

She normally has a lovely brown nose but is a of whitish pinkish colour now.

I heard dogs get snow nose when the seasons change and also they reckon that dogs which drink out of plastic bowls are more likely to get it. I dont know if having a crusty nose is snow nose though.

She drinks out of metal bowls. She also she has both a pink nose and a crusty nose so not sure whether she has two things wrong with her nosal.:(

kelp tablets have been successful with snow noses

Why are you dragging through ALL the old topics?

Sorry is there a ban in looking up the archives? I am new on the list and am enjoying learning about all sorts of things on here and commenting on where I have experience. If this is wrong please let me know; surely as new people join they will find threads that are of interest to them that they have not seen before and have comments/questions/observations to make?

It is not a problem to do what you are doing as far as I know ! So long as they are valid and useful posts ! :)

Moose's nose still is pink although has a few brown spots appearing. Have you had dogs with snow noses before then ??

No but I know several people who have and they have all recommended kelp tablets and their dogs have returned to normal. :)

There is no ban on the archives , however , if someone STILL has the original problem , the topic tends to remain active. Topics only become archived when they are no longer added to , which rather suggests the problem has been resolved.

:)
