My lab has been biting off fur from her tail and legs.First she starts wining and crying then rapidly starts chewing or licking her tail or legs.She is also in heat and is always licking her vulva even though there is know bloody dicharge when she licks.

Anyone?

Does she have fleas or mitles (or ANTS) and can feel them biting?

The reason you might not be seeing a discharge is because she is cleaning it up as she feels it emerging

I had a retriever that did this but it was at the base of his tail and around that area , if it is around there then she may need her anal glands emptying , my retv didn't have this problem until he was approx 6 yrs old so it could happen anytime. Hope this helps.
