I e-mailed you some time back regarding trying to purchase a puppy bulldog.
Well I managed to get one from Fordfox and he’s now nearly 6 months old and doing very well.
I would like to ask you one question if I may, regarding the food I should be feeding him.
Up until he was 3-4 months old I was giving him pedigree puppy food in a sachet.
From then until now he’s been having Science puppy dry food.
Sometimes twice a week with give him boiled chicken breast in with his dry food.
Is it okay to keep him on this until he’s 12 months old or other people I speak to say I should be feeding him tripe.
The breeder I got him from feed all their bulldogs on tripe but this is mainly to do with costs rather then anything else.

Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Jim Silo

Hi Jim,
Glad you got your puppy in the end! I bet he's lovely!

There's no one particular food that is 'the right one' for dogs. All dogs are different, and what suits one doesn't necessarily suit another. If your puppy is growing well and not getting overweight on what you're feeding him, and his bowels are okay, then "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Good luck - hope you and he continue to do well.

you could try him with sardines or pilchards in tomato sauce as a treat.
