Has anyone else's bitch come into season early this year? Chloe came in back in April after 20 weeks. I came home from SKC last night to a very friendly bitch 'chatting' to her son. This morning, after only 18 weeks, I noticed blood on her bedding. Yep, she's in season again:eek: Oh well, looks like son's away to his brother's for 3 weeks.:( I'll just have to hurry her eye testing up. She's booked in at the vet's but Mr Davidson isn't due up yet. Typical. I'll have to go to Edinburgh next week instead.

Hi, some of my Westies have had a 4 1/2 - 5 month cycle and all was well. I think if they are in season in the spring and not mated, they sometimes come in early the next time. As long as the season appears normal I dont think there is usually anything to worry about.

Hi Linda,

Am I glad you didn't have Chloe at SKC, I'm trying to postpone any seasons for as long as possible 'cos of the presence of a certain young man now...and you know what bitches are like, out of spite they'll come in at the wrong time!

I have been to Malcolm Davidson's practice in Edinburgh for an eye test, it is a much more relaxed affair and he has the time to talk to you and to look at the dog's etc. Ok, it is more expensive but it doesn't feel like you're on a conveyer belt.

I've been told his practice isn't far from Fluke, so it will be a quick visit to get the eyes done then on for some fun:D I really wasn't expecting Chloe to come into season for another month at least, but I suppose I should have known. After all her mum did the same thing after her litter, ending up leaving me a week or two to show her in between seasons, phantom pregnancies and non-existing pups. Nightmare!
