Pups are 2 days old now and Mums teats are starting to get sore. She has 7 pups and only about7 good teats. Any ideas to help prevent them getting worse please?

Is it the actual teats that are sore or the actual breasts? If the breasts are hard and hot, call the vet out today as she may be getting mastitis. You could try milking them out by laying very warm clean flannels on them and then the milk will flow easier. If you cant/dont then do ring the vet for advice.

no its not mastitis,just the nipples are looking bruised

Marigold (calendula) ointment is recommended for human mothers with that problem, so it should be safe for bitches.
