May sound abit daft but when I take my 2 Cav pups to a nearby dam for a walk they tend to eat sheep poo. It is a lovely place and a really good walk with steams for them to play in and alot of open space (its a Nationall TRust walk). There are quite alot of sheep about, although they are not interested in the sheep they are very interested in the "sheep poo". I try to stop them but sometimes I just can't . Will it harm them ? We are not talking huge amounts, but at least a couple of big lumps.

....and cow poo ...fox poo ...and anything herbivorous poo :D :D
Seems like dogs like it :)

Deer poo is the greatest delicacy!! :(

My dogs
love sheep poo. One of them is nearly 11, and she's been eating it all her life...... so I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. Just try not to get kissed.......

All my dogs eat sheep poo and are fine :-)
Helen
Well, why eat high quality expensive dog food when you can scrape your teeth along the ground and get a nice mouthful of sheep poo, also cow dung is excellent to roll in. Doesn't have quite the staying power of a good dollop of fox poo but what the heck. The delights of owning dogs eh!!!

13 week old Cav's are a bit small for the real think Michelle. In my experience they practise on Rabbit droppings!

John ;)

Lol...aren't they disgusting?!!!
Mine love horse poo, and as I have 3 horses, the dogs are in heaven!!
One of my dogs will eat absolutely anyhting...and I mean anything!!
It was really funny today, we took him into town with us, and he picked up a burger king Milkshake cup. Could I make him let go of it? Could I heck!! So he walked down the main high street with this cup stuck over his nose. He's a big, strong German shepherd...so you can imagine the laugh everybody had!!!
Gotta love these dogs!
(A very embarassed) Lisa

Reminds me of Eric Morecambe doing his "Schnozzle Durante" impression with the paper cup....!!

Monty likes rabbit poo. I give him beta as treats. It looks the same so he probally thinks its heaven when he finds millions of rabbit droppings :)

you might want to bear in mind there is a chance that the sheep have recently been wormed or vaccinated or drenched....all of which are potentially harmful to dogs. :(

Good tip, Sam. I wait to go in the sheep fields till they've been moved out for about a week, so hopefully any nasty chemicals in the poo will have leached out or generally become inactive.
Fingers crossed, anyway.

Nobody here with a baby then? My neighbour has a 6 week old baby and a lab too. Nappy changing time has to be carefully managed! Say no more - Yuk!
