my 6week old boxer pup wont drink out of a water dish. I always have to mix in lots of water into her puppy food just to get her to have some water (which i dont think is enough). Any Tips?

She's very young still - mine are usually only starting to learn about water bowls at that age, and they have their mum to show them what it's for! If your pup has left her mum very early then she hasn't been taught. Leave the water bowl down, carry on wetting her food well (
very well if it's a dry food), but also offer her bowls of milky water (or watery milk - preferably a puppy milk, not cow's milk) to encourage her to learn to lap.

i found a way to trick her :> whenever she comes in from doing her business she goes in and eats her watered down food, so instead of keep putting more and more food in, i put just a few kibbles in and she drinks the water around it, then eats the leftovers.
btw the icecube thing helped a bit, it got her to learn how to lap at the water. :>

Our pup was the same until about 12 weeks. What we found worked was in the morning , after pup had eaten his breakfast and whilst we were having a cup of tea we added some tea from our cup to his water bowl - he started drinking straight away and then got used to going to the water bowl. Now he is older he drinks on his own , but we still say 'tea time' now and again and he gets excited and runs to the bowl.
A few things we do if we think he hasn't had a drink for a while - especially in hot weather:
*Give him an ice cube to play with
*Make a popcicle in a 'Kong' toy - we freeze chicken stock in it or orange/lemon cordial or weak black tea
* Show him you are adding tea, orange , blackcurrent etc to the water bowl, or just fresh water poured in from a cup
* Let him have a fresh carrot/ pieces of pear as treats instead of biscuits or added them to his food - fruit and veg contain water (Blaze loves grapes, cherry tomatoes and brocolli!!)
Hope it helps.....
