I have a 10 mth Lab who's fed on Beta Junior and a 18 week old lab pup who's fed on James Wellbeloved puppy - they both have stinky wind most evenings - anyone any suggestions how to prevent stinky wind - none of them have upset tums or diaoherra just stinky wind.

My dog was on JW Puppy when I got him and he had loose poo and wind as well. It suits some and not others.....you could always change his food over if you think that is what it could be. We change gradually from one complete to another ..took about a week and within another week he was doing normal poos

I have windy and non windy girls ! Min is a non windy girl now she is on Nature diet. Before she used to let off some right rip roarers when on JWB! :D The two, youngsters are on JWB and Moose is fine but MB does have her moments !! They say charcol biscuits is supposed to help.

I currently have a symphony going on around me as I write!! In fact.,...its been going on all morning, and WOKE ME UP!!!!

They are very noisy and very smelly. Not pleasant at all. The cat has even left the room!
The dogs look around every so often to see where the awful smell is coming from..they fail to realise it is coming out of their rear ends!! :(

:D Yes, they are soooo lovely and thoughtfull arent they...hey...I guess this is just another similarity to men :D

The dogs managed to find my other halfs pepperoni earlier...and...wait for it, they ate a whole loaf of bread (I had just made the damn thing..nice and warm!!!) I only popped out for a little while!!! I can guess the smell tonight wont be much better than this morning!!!
My other half finds it all very amusing!

The main cause of wind is carbohydrates fermenting in the gut. As the majority of commercial dog foods are primarily made from grain (maize, wheat etc) this cannot be avoided. Dogs guts were not designed to process carbohydrates in this form; only meat, bone, fur with the occasional bit of fruit/veggie matter thrown in.

My dogs are raw fed and do not suffer from wind at all.
