Hi All
I need a nerd!!! I can't access my Hotmail or Yahoo e mail accounts. I know there are a lot of worms n things about...but my up to date AV hasn't found anything, and I'm running Windows 98. anyway, which I don't think is affected by these viruses.

I'm behind a firewall, but when I try to get to my mails, I get a "Cannot Find server" message.
Anyone help???

Afraid I'm not a nerd, but I've had this problem before, and it's soo annoying! Not sure if '98 problems are the same a XP, but I had to delete freeserve totally and then re-install it (nightmare). If you ring up the helpline (one that costs 50p a minute unfortunately) and they'll talk you through it.

Sometimes if you leave it a couple of hours it sorts itself out as there might be a problem with hotmail or yahoo. Don't give up as 9 times out of 10 it comes back ok.

PS I am not a nerd !!! LOL

To my knowledge it is only the "Blaster worm" virus which only affects XP. "Sobig F" will affect all windows operating systems. If you have a good virus checker and a firewall you should be safe, a firewall on it's own will not give you the protection you need.

Usually cannot find page etc. means that the server is having problems or is very busy, not your computer, hopefully it should just come back online when the problem their end is sorted out.
