My pup has started to munch part of our carpet at the top of the stairs. Its not too bad but if it was downstairs where people could see it I would be ashamed :-( My question is can you claim on house insurance for damage by puppys??? I just wondered if you were covered for this kind of damage or am I being a bit optimistic thinking theyd pay up lol

Not sure if you can claim on house insurance, but I have just checked my pet insurance policy and can't claim off that, If you found out let me know, I'm sure we will be in the same boat in a couple of months - I've deliberately put off decorating the lounge until the chewing stage is over - and my daughter learns to draw on paper!!!

Good Luck!!

Hayley

You might want to keep an eye on your pup for any signs of tunny upsets, as carpet fibres can cause nasty problem in the gut :(

We used to have door frames, and corners on the kitchen cupboards, all things of the past at the moment

My insurance company doesn't cover me for any damage done by my puppy :-( Check with your insurance company though, my sister had her hall/landing/stair carpet replaced on her insurance when the hamster escaped and he chewed through the carpet at the top of the stairs overnight...........you wouldn't think a hamster could do so much damage, unfortunately the hamster died from eating the carpet.

Sounds like a nationwide shortage of Tabasco sauce is imminent - wonder if Laurence llewelyn bowen allows his springer in the house or can decorate round him/her? Lets ask him round all these CDhouses.

sorry to be gross, but a couple of weeks ago,my husband pulled out a 12 foot long piece of carpet thread out of our rottweilers bum!!!after he sucked it up like a piece of spaghetti one night when we were all in bed, and he is three years old. luckily he did not come to any harm and it was an old piece of carpet in his bed!! we have since changed his bedding and since then he has managed to pass through his bum a complete pair of knickers. I cannot leave anything around anymore i hope your pup grows out of it!! p.s i could not bring myself to wear the pants again even though my hubby washed them!!

Dylan managed to consume an 8 inch beanbag lizard (whole!) when about a year old - we had a couple of very worrying days until he threw it back up again!

Can't wait for my new pup!!! :D
