Not having taken my bitches temperature before, I'm not sure if I am doing it correctly. How far is the thermometer supposed to be inserted? Holly is 58 days and her temperature is reading at 36.5 but I'm doubtful if I have got a correct reading. Help!

Not sure about the temp, as with all my litters I have let they progress normally and not worried untill they are overdue, I would say if you bitch is showing no signs,at this time it is not a worry unless she has any smelly coloured discharge. Some bitch's will sometimes show no early signs but start nesting or looking for somewere quite where she feel safe in the hours befor the birth, have your equiptment ready that you may need and make sure that there is alway's someone around for her,do not panic if you are calm she will have confidence in you, if you are worried contact your vet, could your bitch's breeder help you through this first time
