Why not make life easy on yourself and buy either a cocker or a poodle?
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 20.08.03 17:28 UTC
Have spent months trying to decide why people want poos and other strange and unnecessary crosses and have come to the conclusion that it must be either –

A they can’t make their minds up between the two breeds or
B they want the best of both worlds, which of course they may not get, could just as easy get the worse
- By Carla Date 20.08.03 17:31 UTC
or they just want to look really funny when someone asks what breed it is.... "its a cockapoo"

laugh? i thought i'd never start
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 20.08.03 17:38 UTC
Well I have heard some strange reasons for wanting a particular dog but I really can't believe it, but then I supose nothing should suprise me.

I think your theory is the most likely one Chloe the sad thing is it may have a cute name but there is every chance it will be a dead ugly dog
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 20.08.03 17:43 UTC
You mean a right poo Isabel.
- By Carla Date 20.08.03 17:46 UTC
they'd be better off saying "its a cock-up".
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 20.08.03 17:57 UTC
Isn't a cockapoo something you wipe off your shoe so you don't tread it into the carpet?
- By steph n millie [gb] Date 20.08.03 18:23 UTC
HA HA HA! JG! :D

I think it is absolutely ridiculous! And quite sad really that people not only cross these dogs..but other people apparently want them!!

Have a look on google at the dogs. The pups ( as most are ) are cute...but WHY!!!! Why on earth would anyone want one?? What is wrong with a poodle?? or a cocker?? or a bichon??
You are dead right Chloe, I think your theory is most probably a valid one ( similar to the thread about Bullsh*t puppies....blatantly for the name!!)
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 20.08.03 18:46 UTC
Steph, have you seen the adults, only seen 2 and they really suit the name
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 20.08.03 18:50 UTC
I've just been looking, Jackie, and I think my last idea was pretty accurate. They really are disappointing to look at, when you could have the real thing.
- By Carla Date 20.08.03 18:53 UTC
there's half a dozen of them in our rescue centre down the road.
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 20.08.03 18:54 UTC
I take it you are talking doormat JG. Could be a good selling point, multipurpose dog.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 20.08.03 19:20 UTC
No, Jackie, the coat would be the wrong texture - you'd need a wire-haired one to remove the cockerpoo. ;) :D
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 20.08.03 19:30 UTC
Yep, have to say you are right, the 2 I have seen would be more suited to polishing
- By steph n millie [gb] Date 20.08.03 20:31 UTC
Yes, I forgot to add to my last post (due to other half talking to me)...they arent exactly pleasant on the eyes. Not really something you would strive to get. They look to me like a screwed up mating, done by accident, in the park! How can anyone class it as a breed!!!!!
