Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Docking in certain breeds

As an ex breeder of Yorkshire Terriers (a very long time ago!) I would be interested to find out what your views are. My own view is that it is unnecessary and, in fact they look much better with their tails. I was always unhappy about having to have them docked in order that they conform with the standard. To me, there doesn't seem to be any good reason for doing this - after all, they are not 'working dogs' any more and most are kept as well loved pets.
Opinions please!

Sharon, I think that if you do a search on the words 'dock' and 'docking' you will find that this particular topic has been discussed in great detail.

Regards to Devon Sam - my neck of the woods, or should I say sea? I come from Teignmouth. You are fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the country!
