I wd. of thought that you should be able to feel something by now. Are they there but just not fully down yet? I was getting worried about my lad who is 6 months in just over a week as only one had come down, luckily 4 days the other one came fully down and has stayed there, up to now!!

My poor lad has had me checking for ages, first time I've kept a male:D

hi perr
thank's for your reply
my boy has absalutely nothing to show at all and like you only ever had bitches before apart from when i was a child (male afghan hound) but then didnt realy need to worry about his bits and pieces but when we bought our boy home we did the usual thing called the vet to the home so he could be exzamined and have his jabs and the vet said he could feel them there but since then unfortunately the vet has left the country and is not returning shame as he realy was a wonderful vet a rarety as he thought of animals and not his bank ballance so im on the look out for another kind human vet had another realy good feel and look last night and nothing what so ever poor ole boy i dont quite know what to do do i leave it and hope for the best or is this going to mean surgery i realy dont want him castrated as i believe he needs those ladish horemoans and i would like to breed from him eventually after i have studyed more on the subject but i dont think now i will be able to use him
thanks so much for your comments

This is a hard one most puppys have a full set ( two ) by the time they leave home 8 weeks some have one and the other follows after.Does Can you fill any at this point??
They shoud be down by 12mths if he has one there are two things that could be wrong.
1. he is a monorged which means he only has the one testacle
2 He has two but one is stuck and may need a small op to lower it out
If by 12mth he does not have a full set take him over to the vets for a check up.
All puppys grows at a fast rate for the first few mths then slow down bt say around the 10 / 12 mth stage should be almost finnish.By 18mths is the sure time.
I tell by looking at the nuckle on the front leg when it goes smooth then its done its growing check it out on other dogs to see wot I mean adults dont have a nuckle well most breeds dont!!!

Maybe if you don't worry about it for a couple of months and don't check on them you never know. I'm sure because I was paranoid about them that is why one of them kept bobbing up and down. Don't get disheartened yet, you've got a few more months. I remember when my friends and I brought in our first SWD the last thing that we though of checking was that he was entire, and there we were at the vets next to the airport on the day that we were going when the vet said, " you know he's only got one" aaggh, luckily by 10 months the other one came down.

Well the only thing you can do is asked the breeder if any of the other males in the litter is ok and also about the Sire too and explain the problem with them you should have had at least one ball down by now.
Yes and the other gets stuck you would have to have to op to remove it was you going to show him or is he just a pet?
