My 7 week old mini dachshund puppy sleeps for 1 or 2 hours after eating, and then goes to the bathroom outside. Why does she do this?

Because she's just a baby, and that is normal behaviour for young pups, eat, sleep, poop, little play then more sleep. :) Get yourself a copy of 'the perfect Puppy' by Gwen Baily, that should answer most puppy questions you may have and more.

Edited to add. you should be chuffed she's going outside to do her business at such a young age. Some breeders won't let their pups go to a new home til 8 weeks.

hi its very normal for a puppy what ever age to sleep more as they are still so young,puppys are very much like babies eat,sleep,toliet,my dogs play and sleep loads i wouldnt worry at all.

Same here my puppy loves his sleep especially after his breakfast!

eat, sleep, toilet sounds like my other half.
