Hi,
Just got a decent bonus from work and added to savings now thinking of getting a holiday home ;)
List of requirments; Must take dogs, have good walks. not fussed about the sea either.
Any suggestions there must be caravan owners out there somewhere I need your help.
I live in B'ham and don't want to spend the weekend driving to get there, so not Scotland/Cornwall etc.
Thanks Karen
Lucky you!! Personally, I don't think you can beat the Lake District, plenty of different terrain to choose from, and whilst like you I am not fussed by the sea, I find the lakes beautiful with the fells behind

If you put a search into www.google.co.uk for dog friendly caravan parks then you will find lots...good luck. can we all come and stay when you get one ? LOL

We've dreamt of a holiday home as well. We currently live in Solihull, but are hoping to move back to Derby (where I was born) early next year. I love the Peak District and Lake District, which have already been suggested, but what about north Wales? Harlech appeals to me - the castle, plenty of walks and the sea. Being a Midlands girl, I do like the occasional visits to the seaside :) There would also be loads of good walks inland slightly in the Snowdonia National park.

Actually, I like the sound of the peak district and North Wales might narrow the search to there.
Thanks everyone will post a pic and general invite when I find it.

Hi, I have been looking for a static caravan this summer (haven't quite got the funds yet) and have found some useful sites which show you lots of details about different parks. www.caravan-sitefinder.co.uk is one that springs to mind. There are many more which you can find if you do a search on the web. Big park owners are: Bourne Leisure (which own Haven I think), Park Resorts, and Cinque Ports Leisure. I have spent hours looking and know alot more than I did three weeks ago - just need the money now (Site fees can be astronomical). If anyone out there does own a caravan, I would also be interested in hearing the pros and cons. Thanks

I know that Hoseasons sites allow 1 or 2 dogs on their sites depending on the size og the dog.
