Can anyone help we have 2 bitches and 3 dogs, the bitches have been spayed so it should be ok but its not, one of them seems to keep goading the dogs and they follow her trying to get up her rear end, do bitches give of a smell that entices this, it seems to be only one of the bitches but when you watch her she is the ringleader and leads the boys on.

Sometimes a bit of ovarian tissue is left when a bitch is spayed. It happened with the bitch belonging to a friend of mine, and in effect the bitch "came into season" just as before. But with no uterus there was no chance of a pregnancy. But it was a nuisance with entire males in the same house. The problem was only cured when the vet re-operated to remove the remaining tiny scrap of ovary.

Think once a bitch always a bitch, those of mine who have been stayed have all remained flirts. My present one is a really tart. The worse trouble I had was with a castrated male who developed what is called feminisation syndrome, it was so bad the intact dogs had to be treated with Tardak, an he had to go onto HRT.
