Hello All!
So excited! After reading all the advice on the forum, we let Sparky have a few minutes off lead today for the first time...and he came back first call every time (OK, so my pockets were stuffed with bits of hotdog at the time, but even so...). I'd been really nervous about doing this, so thanks to everyone that's posted on this subject, as it really gave me the confidence to take the plunge. Non-doggy friends and family don't seem to be sharing in my sense of achievement, phone calls have been met with general apathy, but I'm sure you will appreciate how great it feels, especially with your first!!!)

Good for you and Sparky! I love watching them rush up to you with their little eyes shining and ears pricked - Morse tends to brake late and somersault back.:D

It is great when you can watch them run about without a lead, my 5mth old cav loves it off the lead and always comes to me when called, my 3mth old cav remains on lead as I haven't plucked up the courage to let her off yet. I will be just like you, pockets full of treats when i do !!! It is great that we can share these moments with others, as like you my non-dog owning friends do not understand my excitement either!

My pockets are always full of treays and come out the washer in a hard lump or stuck to my pockets.
It's great to see dogs running free coz they love it. Mine go in circles and when they are bored of that start sniffing around and if one doesn't want to come. i'l say something to one of the others look at this wonderful biscuit and then there all there sat down waiting. i sound stupid but who cares
Yup my pockets are the same - at a job interview recently I pulled a Gravybone out of my handbag instead of a pen. It used to be dummies and nappy pins, now its dried liver, cheese crumbs and gravybones. Other peoples dogs love me especially Sam the chubby spaniel who is on a diet and every black lab in the district ( about 50 last count!):D
