Topic Dog Boards / General / The best cause for a donation

Hi, I would like to donate a small amount weekly to a well deserving dog charity. I have noticed that people using the board do not highly rate the RSPCA. I have heard of Blue Cross or should I think more locally and maybe donate to a local rescue centre. There are so many really sad stories and I want to see the money go to the best place. What do other people think?

I donate to Blue Cross and WSPA, by Direct Debit each month. Both of these charities never put a healthy dog to sleep, unlike RSPCA.

Hi what about the NCDL where you can adopt a dog who may never be re-homed and contribute this way or the Retired Greyhounds Trust?

Labrador Rescue North West. http://www.helpalabrador.co.uk

They are very nice people, doing a fantastic job.

Where are you located? We got our Chelsea from a Charity called Help Fife Animals. They are fantastic - they are a smaller charity, and have a base, but the dogs are fostered by several other carers until homed. If you're in Scotland that would be a great charity to support (or even if not in Scotland).

If interested I can send you the email contact details.
