I have just read in the Coventry Evening Telegraph that a group of youths had a husky type dog by the scruff of the neck and threw him under the wheels of a passing motorist !
The driver could not avoid him and he obviously was injured.
It is really is beyond me to think that people can be so deliberately cruel.

I just dont understand some people!!!!!!!! What the hell gives them pleasure about that!!!! Did they say what happened to the dog? I would have thought that it would have killed it, but perhaps not by what you said.
GGRRRRRRRRRRRRR

As I am originally from Coventry and my parents still live there ,I do read this newspaper daily and I shall keep you up to date with any new developments from this awful story. In fact in the same issue there is yet another little staffie pup stolen from someones back garden.
When we go to see my parents ,I am really wary about taking my dog Hamish with us and never leave him alone in the car or garden. What a world eh when you have to worry about DOGNAPPERS !!!!!
Hamish is a miniature schnauzer but very cute and very sellable...........

I would love to see someone try to steal my atika as they would come out of it worse off unless they drugged her

If someone threw a dog under my car I'd run over them too!

Hi Susan, I used to live in Coventry (Cheylesmore) a long time ago. It makes me sick to hear of things like this happening, hope they are found and prosecuted.
- By susan blundell [gb] Date 19.08.03 13:16 UTC
I have looked in todays paper but cannot find anymore about the poor dog.I bet, Irene you are glad you do not still live in Coventry....where are you now?
- By bailliesmum [gb] Date 19.08.03 17:26 UTC
Hi Susan,
It's just unbelievable what some "people" ( I use that term loosely)
will do for a kick these days.
I cannot believe that this poor animal was subjected to such a sickening act - the poor motorist must have felt dreadful, even though it obviously wasn't his fault.
You must let us know if these yobs are caught - I'd like to throw them under the wheels of a very large lorry - Unbelievable!!!

I DONT LIKE YOUR LAST COMMENTS, i live in coventry and we are all not dog nappers or undesirables dont tar us all with same brush.
- By Melodysk [gb] Date 19.08.03 17:52 UTC
No one implied that everyone in Coventry was ......chill :)
- By susan blundell [gb] Date 19.08.03 17:55 UTC
I did not say everyone in COVENTRY are dognappers ! I lived there for 20years or more and my family still do, however I am glad I do not live there now and there is no getting away from the fact that it is becoming an increasingly unpleasant place to live !
That is my opinon and I will stick to it !
- By JAKEYWAKEY [gb] Date 19.08.03 18:04 UTC
it depends where you live in coventry as any where else
- By susan blundell [gb] Date 19.08.03 19:18 UTC
Yes Alison it does.I am not a lover of any cities that is just me .There can be nasty people anywhere in world today, villages, cities and towns and that I cannot tolerate especially when a poor defenceless animal is involved.

It makes me sick.

I swear, If someone threw a dog under the wheels of my car, I'd have to get out and get the dog....take it to the nearest vet...and then go back and find the little sods that did it. Then I'd throw them under the wheels of a passing car and see how they liked it.....suppose that makes me as bad as them..but never mind!

Things like this really drive me mad. I just don't understand why they'd want to do it.

I hope the poor dog is ok.

Just to update everyone on the awful story of the dog being thrown under the wheels of a car in Coventry. The dog is a one year old Japanese Akita girl and has still not been found.
I really hope someone kind has taken her in and she is not laying alone somewhere on her own.
If anyone wants to read it the web site is....iccoventry.icnetwork.co.uk and click onto Coventry news.

Just to add my 'twopeneth' worth to this, a well known fact particularly in the States is that anyone who is cruel to animals in their younger days end up being vicious to humans when older and normally end up taking lives - is it their training days?? Sick weirdo's.
