I would really love to get a cocker puppy but apparently my working hours are too long in the day (9-5) to leave it with a daily midday lunch visit. So i have decided not to get a cocker. But i still want a pup that i can train during the school holidays (maybe easter now) that has all the wonderful characteristics of a cocker. Please don't suggest any terriers because i don't like them in the slightest or any tiny dogs. i would like one that is medium and sheds little. I would like a dog for companionship as i'm in every night during the week and mostly around at weekends, if i', not home at the weekend my partner always is.

I have just read some other messages...if i could get my mother in law to take the dog out with hers in the afternoon for a couple of hours would that be a more ideal situation? she walks her dog daily and am sure during the initil period with a puppy she would come round nd dog sit in the afternoons?

I have a rotti and work in college - she is fine at home during the day with access to the garden as a breed it seems they like their own space but are lovely to be with as they really are responsive and like to be with you when you are about
