Please Help!

Does anyone know of any pet sitters in Cheshire, as I don’t want to lose my pup. I previously posted a message regarding my situation and would like to know if anyone knows of any reputable dog sitters/walkers in Cheshire?

At the moment he cannot be walked as he is under 12 mths so I would only need a sitter.

I must have missed your original post - why can he not be walked ?? Or do you mean walked far ???
Why are you in danger of losing him ??

Labradors cannot be walked until they are 12mths as it can cause hip problems in later life. After 12 mths then he can have half an hour and then 18mths onwards anything he can muster!

As I work and that means 10hrs away each day then it would be no good for him or my house so the only soloution would be to find him another home.

Cannot be walked till he is 12 months???? Errrrrrm, are you sure??

There is absolutely nothing to stop your pup having short walks. 10 to 20 mins 2 or three times a day is fine at his age. The only restriction is the amount of walking due to possible damage to joints and bones.

OK you can't take him on a several mile hike, but he should be going out for socialisation if nothing else. And to get used to buses, cars, trees etc. If you don't you'll end up with a mad, scared, bored, large year old dog that you can't handle when you do eventually take it out. (sorry if that sounds a bit tough!!)

And where did that wonderful misinformation come from??

Sorry i missinformed! I do give him small walks so he gets used to other dogs, people, traffic etc.

Based on the 12mths 1/2 hours, 18 mths etc.... I would have had 3 total nutters if they had been that restricted. All of mine have had hour long training classes every week (where we don't stop moving) from injections onwards, as well as walkies. The youngest is now 16 months, and come October will be expected to cope with a full working day.

Its too much bouncing up and down, jumping around (stairs, sofas beds etc) and hard surfaces that does most of the damage.

Have you had any luck with a sitter/walker/doggie aunt yet??
