i read that someone said that there was no such breed but there are several sites about them!!!!
anybody understand this?

I dont think they are a KC recognized breed.

Bullmastiffs (a KC recognised breed) born and bred in England would be "English Bullmastiffs"? After all, people talk about English Bull Terriers, and there's no such breed as that, either - they are simply "Bull Terriers".

Yes, thats what I meant. The Bullmastiff is a KC registered breed, but I thought that the poster was referring to a different variation of the mastiff which was called the english bullmastiff (which wouldnt be recognised as a breed cos they are just called bullmastiffs)....but yes, if they are born and bred in england then I guess that would make them english.
