ive recently become a puppy owner for the first time and when he left the breeders was on an adult mix so i changed him to the same stuff in puppy food masters complete chicken and rice.unfortunately he has suffered from a runny bottom ever since ,hes been to the vets and with medication and a plain chicken and rice diet got better ,now i must change his puppy food any sugestions please hes a golden retriever collie cross .thanks

my recommendation is barf.my dogs have strond solid poop less smell and they love it.try it.raw bones is the way forward i think.i also give raw tripe.remember must be raw and give little by little when changing the diet.

Just be careful with raw tripe, it is out of balance in it's phosporous to calcium ratios and isn't really that suited for a puppy. I found out the hard way, I was feeding (Now my old girl of 12) tripe as a pup and she suffered from growth plate problems due to the tripe, her bone density was very poor and she had a lot of joint pain. A very large daily dose of calcium had to be given along with NO TRIPE! She recovered well but I've never fed a puppy it since.

sorry lily is right.when i meant barf i meant the whole thing not just raw tripe.i mean fresh veg,fruit,chicken bones meat etc not just the tripe.
