it does sound as though he is going through puberty and his hormones are getting the better of him. Ihave a chat with the vet...a tardec injection is an alternative to getting him surgically done. Does he behave in general? is he showing any signs of dominance towards you or your family? or is it just other dogs?

he only dose this with my other jrt female not my other dogs ,children or myself,he is a wonderful young dog apart from this behaviour,he is very loving towards my children and myself he isnt at all dominant as my other jrt rules the roost as far as the dogs are concerned.

Hi Thumper it definitely sounds like he is starting to feel his feet and he is basically pushing to see how far he can go.I am surprised your jrt bitch hasn't duffed him up and put him in his place by now, my friend has parson russels and the girls are definitely the boss, mind you it depends on how old your bitch jrt is.And i know with my various breeds the girls are the BOSS. Mind you girls thats the way it should be isn't it :D :D

Try increasing your dominance of the dogs, not just him, and then point out to him it is your bitch and if she need biting you will do it. Silly I know, but you get the idea I hope or you'll have a mouth full of hair.

Know what you mean, he is going through the 'yob' stage and I hate it too. They do come out the other end and then it is all worth while. Have to admit that I did have to rehome a bitch once because of bitch on bitch aggression, but I have never had that much problem with males, they seem to try it on, but give way when it becomes clear it's just not acceptable.

dont know if its because his the only male dog in the house,i have tried getting him away from the others when he gets like this but he goes straight back and starts again,i feel as if im wasting my time.

Dozer usta do this to his father Junior and Dozer already had the snip. Everytime Dozer started to get nasty I sprayed him and after that for a couple of days their play is now all fun. Great to see them playing nice and Dozer not trying to be the dominant one. It worked for me.

ttfn :)

tried spraying him with water but that didnt work as he loves water.

lol :D so does Tiva she will bark till you spray her too. How about a shake can that might work. When he gets to rough use the shake can and praise when he stops. He should soon learn to play nicely. Or the other one will soon put him in his place. My 4 all play pretty rough, T-bone and Dozer play so rough at times I find little marks on them. But never to where they are hurting. Once one lets out a squeal the other stops and they play nice again. Do hope they sort it out soon...Good luck :)

ttfn :)

i real dont think he (merlin) really means to hurt her at all he just gets to excited,he just tried to order my 20 week old border collie about she wont have none of it,she made him squeal so maybe he will stop doing this to crystal now.
