Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / bullmastiff's breathing

Hi i was wondering if anyone can tell me what a puppy bullmastiff's breathing should be like. I purchased my bullmastiff puppy bitch 7 weeks ago and she has always sounded really snuffly.Paris is now 16 weeks old and have taken her to the vets and had a full vet check done and of course she has now had her vaccinations done but i thought it was a puppy thing that she would grow out of, but despite this she still sounds very snuffly and its as though she has a blocked nose permantly. I do know that she is growing nicley and gaining weight well and she has no temperature and is eating and drinking well, also the only excercise she has is in the garden with our other dogs. I have done a little lead walking with her just to get her used to every day noises and other people and dogs. I am hoping to be able to show her and would like to start ringcraft classes, but am wondering if this is going to cause us a problem. I have read all the books that i can and also looked up as much information as i can find but i cannot seem to find a mention of there breathing as puppys. I really appriciate you all taking the time to read this and hope someone will be able to put my mind at rest, thank-you Emma.

Hi Emma what did the vet say? i have bullmastiffs and have never had a breathing problem, but like alot of bull breeds some times there nostrils are to small you see they should have nice wide open nostrils, that could be one thing. Or she might have an infection ? have a look to see if you can see up her nose if you can then they are wide if you cant then they are narrow.

Hi Corso Girl , the vets has never said that there is a problem with Paris's breathing and that she is healthy. I have some pictures of her i could email you if you did not mind to see what you think. My email is kacisummer@aol.com and thank-you for replying to my questions.
