I have recently heard that "Livercake" is great for training dogs and that they absolutely love it. But what exactly is it and where can I buy it? Ta :-) xx

Hi,
You make it, not buy it! If you do a "Search" (top right corner of the screen) and type in 'liver cake' you'll get recipes.

You need to make it yourself :)

LIVER CAKE RECIPE.

8ozs Liver [preferably Lambs]
4ozs S/R Flour
2 Eggs
2 Cloves Garlic/ or 2 tsps garlic puree.

Put all the ingredients into a blender until the mixture is smooth, pink and runny [not too rigid a requirement if you prefer to make it a bit chunky' Pour into greased swiss roll type baking tin and place in the oven [Gas Mark 4] for around 30-40 minutes.

Leave to cool and cut into bite size pieces.

It can be frozen into individual bags [enough for a show] and makes enough for 4/5 shows.

Melody :)

You can also make a gluten free variety too by using gluten free flour
and baking powder instead of the s/r flour.
At least then dogs with a gluten intolerance don't have to miss out :)
I know my Boxers sit infront of the oven whilst it's cooking, they love
it :D

Your not wrong there! I couldn't eat after making my first ever batch, it stank and looked awful before it was cooked. Once cool it desn't smell too bad though. I find chicken livers smell less that pigs liver though.
