Kids go back to school on Tuesday and as usual the Ganghut rings with cries of " Whaurs ma gym kit? " and " No Ah willnae wear they troosers - ah'll look like a scaff! I need new lace up ones!". This I can deal with but I am worried about Morse - he's had company unlimited over the past 7 weeks and longlies in the morning. Today I was meant ot be getting new shoes for the wee ones but son and heir has wandered off with his tribe and Daughter NO1 is out replacing scaffy trousers, so I can't go off and leave him for a couple of hours alone after him being with us so much in the holidays......

Mine both go back on the 3rd- Kane's 6th Birthday:) Melody how did you go about organising birthday parties when she was younger- with them going back to school on their birthdays? Upto and including his 4th birthday was easy because it was a few close friends and family but last year (5th) and this year (6th)- with him being at school- friends from his class are invited- so far I've been sending the invites out just before they break up from school for the holidays but with it being such a lomg time it proves dreadful with organising numbers etc:(

Mine go back on September 2, which means I have to stay all day at work :( Owell more money :). I have been getting off everyday at 12:30 (51/2hrs instead of 71/2hrs) because my hubby works at 1:00 and this way I don't have to pay for a babysitter. I would of dished out more then I made so we decided to do this and it working great, I still kinda get a summer holiday :). I only have next summer of doing this cause then my daughter will be old enough to stay home and watch her brother for 2 hrs :( they grow up so fast. Can't believe how time flies by :(

ttfn :)

Just out of interest how old do they have to be to stay home by themselves?

There isn't any law apparently ( Scotland remember) all that happens is the parent is prosecuted if anything happens while s/he is out - negligence. My police pal tells me 14 is old enough to babysit siblings and if anything happens you 're liable for the sitter under 16 as well as the kids. I feel teenagers can get into worlds of trouble home alone (good movie that) so i'd leave them less time than a 10 year old.
