I have just bought a Blue Mink German Shepherd, I have been told that this colour is quite rare, might anybody out there know just how rare, or even have any information they could share with me about my beautiful coloured dog.

I believe it's rare because it is a non-standard colour, so is considered a fault. I hope you didn't pay extra for it?

They are by no means rare, but are often culled at birth because the colour is forbidden in the show ring and I believe has some colour associated health problems.
I too hope you didn't pay more.

Never heard them called that before

Blue is a dilute gene & is not all that rare since some breeders have been line breeding to a Champion dog you carried the gene

It's not forbidden in the ring but you would not be placed under a judge who judging to the KC standard but there are those who have placed whites & long coats

What will they come up with next just to sell these dogs, i to hope you didnt pay a lot for it.
