dear people,
I would really love a puppy but I have two cats and one rabbit and I'm not sure wheather that would affect what breed I have or any of my pets temperments as they are all good natured at the moment.

yours Marianne

some dog breeds get on better with other animals than others. if you have had your cats for a long time then they may not be very happy about you getting a dog and may not spend as much time around the house. you shouldnt leave a dog and a rabbit alone because they dont usually get on. you would be better getting a small breed of dog and you can introduce him to your other animals while he is still young.

Hi
I have six cats and three rabbits which all have a free run and i have no problems with the dogs as they were puppies when they met them so they just treat them as part of the family.

Hi, we had a whippet when we got our rabbit and never had any trouble.

Hi there! we had a welsh springer spaniel with rabbits and guineas and she was fine, but our lab kept trying to retrieve our geriatric guinea when she was a pup! I would suggest that the rabbits and dog only have supervised meetings...as for the cats, they could get on well, the cats could be too scared to enter the house, the dog too scared of the cats (our lab was chased off by a tom when she was a pup bless her!) etc... its really hard to predict...how are your cats around friends dogs if they come to visit etc?
