Hi all
Does anyone know a good place to get a cheap paddling pool? Or is anyone on here selling one??
I want to get one for the dogs but the only ones I have seen are really expensive. Does anyone else have one for their ogs and what sort do you have. I presume inflatable would be a bad idea. ;)
thanks in advance for any help
(oh..if anyone is selling one, please email me...would happily pay for postage etc)
We have a large inflatable one for the kids that Dylan sometimes shares with no problems, trick is not to overinflate. You can get ones with rigid sides but they are a bit pricier.
Try Toys R Us or Argos for the cheapest ones, but if you get a biggish inflatable one be prepared to buy an electric pup (£15 from Argos) or it will take forever and in this heat you could quite prbably die!

Who has been using a kids paddling pool herself today :)
I find the electric ones are easier to toilet train Gina!! :D

I got a paddling pool from Tesco's yesterday. It's circular 6ft. It's not very high only about 12" but the dogs loved it. Fitted 4 Spanish who were jumping in and out retrieving their toys. Only cost just under £12. Not big enough to swim in but big enough to paddle in and get quite wet!!! It's one of the ones with the solid plastic sides, not an inflatable one, I thought that would only last 2 seconds:d

The paddling pool we have is from Toys R Us. It is rigid plastic , and we bought the small one. The large one wouldn't fit in our car. The small one takes a while to fill anyway so glad I didn't get the big one. Ours was bought originally for our son about 4 years ago and cost around £7 then.

I got the big one (rigid sides), took ages to fill it up, Willis got in and trashed it in 30 seconds. Water everywhere, little bits of plastic all over the garden and one big, daft, happy looking, wet Great Dane. Most expensive 30 seconds of fun he's had in a while :D

I bought mine for our two but Barney stood there in the water, gave me a look of disgust and jumped out and ran for it and Molly did the same! Now I know Barney doesnt like rain but Molly is always rolling round in the sprinkler and the rain and then into the earth and comes in dripping mud everywhere but I suppose that is more fun than a paddling pool. So I havee been sitting in it with a nice gin and tonic in peace on my own LOL :)

:D @ Gina
I'm so jealous. Haven't seen the sun today at all, only clouds and a bit of rain. Dogs are happy though. I've just put on a sweatshirt 'cos I was feeling cold!

:D @ Gina! I hope that after the fourth or fifth G&T you weren't seen slowly slipping beneath the surface....

Was looking at them today in Toys R Us as tried Argos last week but sold out (also Woolworths) They had 5 or 6 different rigid ones, shapped like hippos (£17) apples (£19) and turtles (small, inc. lid £25) Had 2 kids with me so coldnt fit one in the car so am going back for one tomorrow when I can fold the seats down. The pugs have been paddling in a large cat lit tray today (between thunderstorms!) the American Cockers dont seem keen at all - prefer the beach I suppose (apart from Dexter, who goes swimming to the hydrotherapy pool)

why dont you try one of those sand pit types!!
at least it wont pop and when not in use through the hotter weather you can store things in it,i think mothercare do them

I use a ridged dog bed with the high sides and a lower front, it only holds about 2inches in depth of water but for the schips that ample they lay down in it have a drink then get out and lay on the floor leaving a very large puddle as they slowly dry off. I like this better as it's dual purpose .......... turns back into a dog bed in the cooler weather, plus it's safe for my puppies too.

We use the rigid shell paddling pool from argos or index around £14, but top and bottom are the same so we went halves with sister in law and had half each dogs love it (labs and springer). they have had it about 4 years now and its still in one piece.
Kind regards Ruth

Thanks everyone.
You have given me some really good ideas. I will have to get onto it so these dogs can have a splash about (although it is a bit cloudy this morning) :(

I got Monty one from Woolies for £4.99 the other day, its just a kiddies padling pool with 3 rings which you blow up (not too much puff needed!!), but he loves it and dives right in after a walk and its great for achy hot feet after a day at work :)

Walking passed one of the "pound stores" yesterday I notice paddling pools in the window - and thought that for a £1 it does not matter if the pugs do puncture it! It is small, just 2 rings high, but the pugs loved it in todays heat!

I have two sizes of paddling pool for sale. Both are the rigid steel framed, PVC liner type (they are Children's paddling pools, but with the addition of some rubber matting for the bottom, could easily be used for your dogs to loung/play about in). They are brand new, boxed and come will all the fitures and fittings. They can be put together by one person in under 10 minutes.
There are two sizes.....
The first is 5' 9" long , 4' wide and a almost a foot deep (it has a small ladder for children to use when getting in and out). This is for sale at £40.00 (you would need to add postage to this which costs £9.99 for next day delivery).
The second pool is 7' 9" long, 4' 2" wide and a foot deep. This is for sale at £50.00 (you would need to add postage to this which costs £9.99 for next day delivery).
Email me at 'Racinghero55@hotmail.com' if you would like one, or want to ask any questions.

My children have a 15' dia x 36" deep steel frame pool, my cocker spaniel loves going in for a swim and he's not even 4 months old yet, during the hot weather we caught him climbing the ladder to get in, trouble was the pool was covered with a solar panel at the time which he thought he could walk on, until he stepped on it and disappeared............didn't frighten him off though :D
Don't worry, he can't normally get to the part of the garden with the pool, it's fenced off, so I was watching him at the time............lol.
