Why wont the RSPCA come out ?? You and your mum were witnesses to an assault on a pup !!!! :(
God , now I'm angry ! Why the hell do people treat animals like this ?????
If they do this with people aound how the hell do they treat them when inside the house ?
Poor little thing. Next time it escapes I would take it straight around to the nearest dog home and not return it to them!!
- By Carla Date 10.08.03 10:49 UTC
I'm afraid I'd go round and offer them money for the puppy - say I'd been after one for ages, give them £50 cash or something :(

Alternatively, as lel says, next time it escaped it would "find its way to my house" and they'd never get it back again.

exactly what i would do chloe.:).

how trerrible For you and your mum Rachel I think I would have punched him back twice as quick for hiting the poor pup people like this make every genuine animal lover sick with anger . as usal the R S P C A are C##p at helping .as lel said i think i would keep a eye out for the pup in future and help it make its way to my house and keep quite about it i know it not right but what choice for the pup your lovely home with love or being beating I sure other people would agree .
- By chaliepud [gb] Date 10.08.03 12:17 UTC
I agree with all the others, keep an eye out for it and then try and entice it away - shouldn't be too hard! - or as also said offer them some cash for it, I'm sure anyone who would rehome the poor thing would help with any costs. Whereabouts are you? There maybe someone on the board who could help that lives near you. I can imagine how you feel, I would feel distraught if I saw somwthing like that, but it is just too easy to do nothing. It may also be worth badgering the RSPCA, or getting others to call too, maybe that will make them realise something is really wrong

Good luck

Hayley

i also think you should do something but why bother mention that he was foreign wat does this have to do with him owning a dog?does it mean he will look after it worse than british people?why mention he was foreign?
- By dizzy [gb] Date 10.08.03 14:07 UTC
for gods sake--why mention which sex it was  do you think she was accusing all males of being the same,-touchy arent you, ?????
- By charlie24 [gb] Date 10.08.03 14:50 UTC
I thought rachel was referring to the puppy when she said that whooops, must be alcohol poisoning from the night before.
- By chaliepud [gb] Date 10.08.03 15:12 UTC
I think they call it descriptive narrative!
- By charlie24 [gb] Date 10.08.03 17:43 UTC
Ah is that what it is!!
- By lisa [gb] Date 10.08.03 19:31 UTC
Just maybe, it is because we all know different countries/races treat their animals totally different to people here in the UK and it might appear that to the owner of the puppy his behaviour was totally normal. Therefore you would certainly approach a person who believed their treatment of a puppy was normal totally different to that of a person who might not know any better. I think it was a perfectly normal 'word' to use in this instance and shouldn't the response be more to help the puppy.

I would ensure if found wandering again it somehow did not manage to find it's way home ;)
- By Carla Date 10.08.03 19:47 UTC
lisa - perfectly put - i was trying to put something similar on here, but couldn't think how to put it! :)
- By dollface Date 10.08.03 20:35 UTC
What ever u decide to do don't put urself in danger. If this man had no problem hitting the pup like that in front of u don't think he would think twice about u. I'm just pariniod that way. I would call the cops explain what happened since it is abuse and any kind of abuse should not happen. If the RSPC won't do anything, I definately would call the cops.

Yes if u do see the lil one wondering around I would scoop the pup up and take the pup home. But I would find another home for the pup, because if he see's you with the pup then there could be big trouble. Just better to be safe :)

ttfn :)

Excellent and eminently sensible advice, dollface!

Have you thought of telling the local paper/radio/Tv station that the RSPCA wont help?
- By Lindsay Date 11.08.03 08:46 UTC
i get so angry when i hear about this sort of thing, but also feel so powerless to help

If the poor Rottie pup is spirited away (which by the way i totally agree with) they will probably just get another one. I just can't bear it.

I do hope he can be saved. God knows how they get hold of these pups and I dare't think where the other one went to.

If it gets out again "find it" and give me a ring I will take it away dont care day or night just ring me or where you are in the country.
I MEAN IT
Poor thing trouble is it will grow up fearing everything and unsocialised then when it bites its the breed it is :(
- By mattie [gb] Date 11.08.03 08:55 UTC
Me too Ill help in fact Id make it a mission to find the pup again
- By chaliepud [gb] Date 11.08.03 09:26 UTC
Where are you Rachel? I'm sure one of us could help
- By Rozzer [gb] Date 16.08.03 21:31 UTC
This is sooo sad. A shar pei one week, a Rottweiler the next, even if the poor pup did make its way into another home (by mistake!) and lived happily ever after what poor pup would be next? These people have to be stopped...The RSPCA are bl**dy useless...I'm so angry. You have to keep onto the RSPCA ignore the switchboard dolly's get the message across - insist an inspector cheks it out or you go to the press.
