I have a 3 year old boxer and wish to breed her. I was looking for any information about this topic and wondering what age is to late. Thanks.

Hi Bxrlover,
Is she a good example of her breed? By that I mean has a breed specialist assessed her, either in the showring or elsewhere? As you love boxers you'll know about the serious heart conditions that can affect them - has she been tested for these? And has she been hip-scored? All these tests are necessary if you are serious about breeding from her.
:)

Hi Bxrlover your bitch is not to old to mate at 3 years old i would say its a good age. I mated my boxer bitch earlier this year she was two and a half and she had a great litter of nine. She coped very well as it was her first litter, they are all doing well and are now nine weeks old. Good luck let us know how you get on Doreen

Thank you for your information. I realy appreciate it. and if you could tell me what age would be to late and approximately how much it cost you to give your litter thier needed shots, tail docking ect. Thanks so much!

For costs, you'd have to ask your vet, as these things vary region to region. Too late (I'm assuming you mean for a first litter) would be about 5 years old. So you have plenty of time to get all those essential tests done!

HI, if you haven't got a copy get "The Book of the Bitch" by Jim White and Kay Evans. Its essential reading for all bitch owners. Please think very carefully before you breed, two very experienced posters here who rarely breed have both lost their beloved pregnant bitches in the last couple of weeks, before any puppies were even born. When things go well its lovely having puppies but often it doesn't go well at all.
Breeding and rearing a litter of puppies properly can easily cost £1000-£2000, and thats when everything goes to plan. Also with the new culture of " sue everyone for everything" I strongly advise you to be sure to have all the necessary BOXER health tests done and have "unaffected" or acceptable results. A vet health check is not enough. Contact your breed club ( search facility on this site) and get information about hereditary disease in Boxers and which tests are recommended.
Purchasers of puppies that develop an hereditary disease can sue the pants off breeders these days- even when you have done all the tests on both parents and had the best results - puppies affected by hereditary disease can still be produced and the courts nearly always find in favour of the purchaser. Just thought you should know. :-)
