That pup isn't just going to be energetic its going to be heavy and it'll get a lot heavier very quickly :( while still being very boisterous and energetic. Do your boyfriend a favour and wait until he is completely better before you even think about getting him a pup. Then do the research and visit the breeders together, half the fun is looking for and anticipating the pup!

For now you could look for a really nice print of a Bullmastiff, to keep him going :D
