My GSD pup (8wks) has been with me for the last 5 days. At night we put him in his crate downstairs and go to bed. He whines for a few minutes and then settles down until about 5am. however, last night he howled from 1am to 3.30am without stopping - obviously he was distressed and I found myself sleeping downstairs beside his crate in order to settle him. I don't want him to get used to me doing this - has anybody any advice as I'm desparate for some sleep! Many thanks

How often are you feeding him and what time is his last meal? Could he be hungry?
